Merdeka

Happy Independence Day, Malaysia!

Weather was great today. Did a morning run, then off for lunch at this new Malaysian restaurant, Sugar Bun. Food was alright, nothing too amazing. Cheap but.

Met up with Jeffrey and Wan, good as usual :)

Went Chaddy for a quick walk around and, had Roti Canai.  Nomnommm! Very malaysian of me. I actually wanted some chilli mussels but couldnt find any near Chaddy unfortunately.

Watched Silver Linings Playbook, Jennifer Lawrence she's an amazing actress. Movie was great!

And next up, Now You See Me.

Signing out now!

Write

Today, I'll promise myself that I'll write. I'll write as much as I can. Regardless how terrible my writing is, how bad I've said it, I will continue to write.. to tell my story.

Because I know, these words will mean so much more tomorrow and even more the day after and so on.

A week ago I thought I've lost my previous blog, a blog that I used to post about anything and everything since 2007. Good thing I found out that I've actually imported all my posts to this current blog - just sitting unpublished. What a relief - damn right!

Now, good night

View from afar

Home sweet home, Malaysia.

General election has just passed with an unfair election process. And, with all honesty I do not have much knowledge in Malaysian politics. All the news and information that I read were through of course, the Facebook. Therefore, I do not have the right to say much about what has happened. But, just a little thought about me as a Malaysian who lives abroad.

I stayed in Melbourne for good 4 years, and I've known several friends who had experienced racism. Well lets face it, we can't avoid racism anywhere in this world. But, when it comes down Malaysians - I must say every single Malaysian I've met, they've introduced themselves as Malaysians, not chinese, malay, indian or any other race. Because the Malaysian community is small (*well it's pretty big in Melb, but relatively speaking among Australians and other foreigners), we talk share laugh like we've known each other for ages. There's no race issue and I feel as if we are a better community on our own than back in Malaysia.

Now, why can't Malaysians in Malaysia be the same? No doubt, there are several reasons to this, exposure education equality etc.. personally, I think it all comes down to how racist you are *joke. Racist people go shits about racism and they never stop - and they influence.

Despite the unfair and corrupted election, life goes on. People of Malaysia have spoken, their voices have been heard and this I'm proud of. Good or bad outcome, all I want is a safer Malaysia.

Please take care for those back home.

Love.
